EU reacts to Trump’s “50 days”

Kaia Kallas welcomed the tough stance of the White House chief of staff on Russia, but reminded that the Russians kill innocent civilians every day.

The head of European Union diplomacy, Kaia Kallas, said that the American delay of 50 days before imposing sanctions on Russia is too much. Thus, she commented on the statement of US President Donald Trump to journalists on the evening of Monday, July 14, writes The Telegraph.

“It is very positive that President Trump is taking a tough stance on Russia,” said Kaia Kallas.

At the same time, she reminded that Russia kills civilians every day.

“On the other hand, 50 days is a very long period, considering that they kill innocent civilians every day,” she noted.

As is known, Trump on Monday once again expressed his disappointment with Russia and promised to impose “very tough tariffs” against it if a peace agreement in Ukraine is not reached within 50 days.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte also said during a joint press conference with Trump that Ukraine would receive “a huge amount” of military equipment under the new supply scheme.
